Our dental office in downtown Vancouver is now accepting The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). Government of Canada provides CDCP and Sunlife Dental Insurance is administrator for the plan. We are helping Canadians to improve their dental health using CDCP.
Who is eligible for Canadian Dental Care Plan?
Government of Canada offers Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP) for Canadians under age 18 and over 65 (at this time) with certain income. To apply and understand if you are eligible for CDCP you can check updates through the official CDCP Government of Canada Website.
You may apply directly through the CDCP Website. Once your application approved, you will receive a confirmation package including a member card from Sunlife Canada. This will allow you to start using the dental plan.
How can I use my CDCP coverage?
Once you receive your Sunlife package, you may contact our office to set up a dental appointment no matter if this is your first visit to our office or you have been to our office previously. You may provide your Sunlife insurance information which can be found on your membership card. This allows us to set up an account allowing for direct billing to Sunlife insurance by our office.
What Dental Procedures Are Covered Under CDCP?
At this time, CDCP covers most of basic dental services including;
- Dental Examinations
- Dental X-rays
- White Fillings
- Root Canal Treatment
- Tooth Extraction
- Crowns
- Partial and Complete Dentures
- Denture Repairs
CDCP plans to add fixed bridges and orthodontic treatments in future.
What Is My Co-payment For Dental Treatments?
The Canadian Dental Care Plan covers on average about 75% -85% of the British Columbia Dental Fee Guide for people with less than $70,000.00 annual income. This means there is about 15%-25% payment that should be paid by patient for each procedure at the time of treatment. The plan covers lower percentage for people with the income bracket between $70,000.00 -$9000.00 which results in higher co-payment by patient. Our office can provide an estimate of cost for patient portion, upon request, for each planned treatment prior to your treatment.
CDCP Direct Billing
Our office has digital connection to Sunlife Canada. We do direct billing which means you do not need to pay full amount of your treatment. We deal with all paper works regarding submission of your claim.
